Twice a year, Coastal Claymakers hosts a members Meet Up at Coffs Harbour TAFE that includes a demonstration by one of our members.
Coastal Claymakers’ Meet Ups aim to promote community connections and awareness of our creative ceramic community and a space where we can share our knowledge and expertise.
About Phil Greed:
Phil Greed is a renowned Coffs Coast ceramic artist and teacher where he has been living since 1983. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Ceramic Design) Degree from Caulfield Institute of Technology and has been a maker and teacher of ceramics for over 40 years. Phil creates both functional and sculptural work which is often characterized by its exploration of textures, forms, colours, and rhythms influenced by the convergence of elemental energies of earth, water, fire, and wind. His recent work, “calx_what goes around (2025),” was recognized as the winner of the $5000 Coffs Coast Artist Award in STILL: National Still Life Award 2025.
Phil is a founding member of Coastal ClayMakers Inc., which promotes the study of ceramics through lectures, discussions, excursions, projects, and practical workshops. Phil’s artistic contributions have been recognized with the Coffs Coast Artist Award, and he continues to inspire and educate through his work and community involvement.
